Lab
My laboratory uses analytical ultracentrifugation
and other biophysical techniques to study macromolecular interactions
that regulate the interferon antiviral defense pathway and replication
of HIV and Hepatitis C viruses. Current research opportunities
focus on PKR, an antiviral kinase that is activated by double-stranded
RNA
We currently have
openings for students to work on the following projects:
-
Mechanism of activation and inhibition
of PKR by viral RNAs and proteins.
-
Structural analysis of PKR by small angle
X-ray and neutron scattering.
-
Interaction of PKR with substrates and
host factors.
